Sustainability

By pure definition, Sustainable Design is the philosophy of designing physical objects, the built environment and services to comply with the principles of economic, social and ecological sustainability. Simply defined, the concept calls for us to be responsible stewards of our environment beginning with design and following through into the construction and maintenance aspects of any project.  The ultimate goal of sustainable design is to “eliminate negative environmental impact completely through skillful, sensitive design”.   This philosophy can be applied in architecture, landscape, urban design, urban planning, engineering, industrial design and interior design.

Our design and contracting team has a history of applying sustainable design concepts in design and construction, and our approach for your project will follow these same guiding principles.  In order to respond to the sustainable requirements for your project, our development team will use the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) LEED Project Checklist as a benchmark for guidance and accountability.  This approach will implement sustainable design into your project.  Our team will work with you to incorporate all the credits which apply to your project in keeping with the budget presented.

Regardless of your decision regarding certification, Harrell Contracting Group is committed to applying Sustainable Design principles to your project as well as all other projects that we design and build.
